A wood watch and a lighthouse

June 3, 2014 by Tasha 14 Comments

Awhile back, I had the pleasure of being contacted by JORD watches to see if I'd like to review one of their watches. Wood watches, as a matter of fact. Pretty unique, right? I was definitely intrigued. Honestly though, my first thought was that I'd politely decline, as I had recently bought myself an everyday watch. But then I realized I knew a special someone who would be able to give me an honest opinion and whose ... Read more »

Nail care mini series: Couture Gel Nail Polish kit review

May 1, 2014 by Tasha 10 Comments

Today is day five of my mini series on nail care. I'm in Dublin right now, but today you'll get a very special review to cap off my series this week! I have been using my Sephora Gelshine kit for about two years, but I recently had the immense pleasure of being sent a new gel nail polish kit to review, courtesy of Couture Gel Nail Polish. New fun nail things to play with? Yes, please! Couture is a woman-owned ... Read more »

Fun with tab closures, plus a Craftsy class giveaway!

April 23, 2014 by Tasha 8 Comments

Hello everyone, I'm here with another post for my series with Craftsy, plus  a fun little giveaway for you, too! Recently, I had the pleasure of taking a new class, Creative Closures: 8 Unique Techniques, taught by Marsha McClintock. I've learned over the last year or so that I absolutely adore the look of creative embellishment on clothing, but I tend not to like things too fussy as I'll just admire them in the ... Read more »

Mastering zippers with the help of Craftsy

March 29, 2014 by Tasha 19 Comments

Today is my first collaboration with Craftsy! I revisited a class that I already had viewed, actually. It's the (free!) Mastering Zipper Techniques with Sunni Standing. The class covers invisible zippers, slot seam zippers and lapped zippers. The really nice part is that it also covers inserting a slot seam zipper with a lining, and an invisible zipper with a lining and facing. I think Sunni is The Woman for ... Read more »

Retrolite love! A Classic Hardware jewelry review

March 14, 2014 by Tasha 16 Comments

I have an affinity for costume jewelry. And while my tastes can vary, I often tend to lean towards the plastics. The colorful, bold baubles of Bakelite, celluloid, and all manner of vintage and retro plastics in-between. Such fun! I had the immense pleasure of being sent a few such wonderful items from a fantastic American-made jewelry company, Classic Hardware. Artist and designer Karyn Cantor started the line in 1995 ... Ever After outfit: A Shabby Apple dress review

October 21, 2013 by Tasha 15 Comments

Recently I was tickled to be contacted by Shabby Apple to see if I'd like to review one of their dresses. Adorable retro dresses? Yes, please! Shabby Apple has lots of cute dress and skirts in their vintage clothing section. Their styles are influenced by eras gone by, with a myriad of vintage silhouettes to suit different tastes. Just like the lovely dress I was sent! My dress is called Ever After. It's a ...
