I’m SO happy to introduce you to my latest vintage-inspired knitting pattern. This is Confidette—a smart, cropped bolero, and the perfect layering piece.
Confidette is a size inclusive pattern, in eleven sizes ranging from 32 – 63″ / 81.5cm –160cm at full bust, with a recommended 1 – 3” / 2.5 – 7.5cm positive ease.
It features a shaded garter stitch border with mitered corners, a simple neckline that won’t compete with the neckline of your favorite dress or top (one of my main goals in designing this!), and three-quarter length sleeves.
It’s seamless and worked top down, so it’s easy to customize the length or waist shaping. Some of my test knitters lengthened the body and omitted waist shaping, to great results! See more of their work on their Ravelry project pages. I’m so grateful for their help!
Plus it’s a relatively fast knit in DK weight yarn. It’ll be your new favorite wardrobe staple.
The shaded border and cuffs are one of my favorite parts of this pattern. They add just enough color and texture to keep things interesting, and a nice break from stockinette. The border is cleverly started from the waist stitches and picked up along the fronts and back neck.
There’s tons of customization tips and design ideas in the pattern. Have fun dreaming up ways to personalize your own Confidette. It’s an easy and fun knit and will leave you wanting to knit more than one!
Check out the project pages on Ravelry to see more great examples from my fab test knitters!
