Express Line Cardigan: new knitting pattern!

March 20, 2024 by Tasha 5 Comments

Ready to knit your new favorite cozy cardigan?? Meet the Express Line cardigan, my latest vintage-inspired knitting pattern. Buy Express Line on Ravely and Payhip.

It’s super snuggly and a lightning fast knit in super bulky weight yarn. You’ll be taking the express line to a finished cardigan before you know it! Complete with a fun and easy stitch pattern to keep your interest.

Express Line knitting pattern - super bulky weight cardigan in variegated yarn

Express Line knitting pattern - super bulky weight cardigan in confetti fleck yarn

Express Line is a classic, vintage-inspired cardigan. It features a relaxed fit in the body and three-quarter length sleeves. It’s knit seamlessly from the top down, and is easy to customize the body or sleeve length and put your own spin on it.

You can see between the two I knit, I lengthened the sleeves and body just a bit on my second one.

This is a pattern that I initially designed to work beautifully with variegated yarns, like my version in Hedgehog Fibres Super Bulky in the colorway Piggy Pank. It’s so delightful and perfect for spring!

Express Line is also fabulous as a wardrobe staple in a more solid color. My dreamy creamy one is knit in Wool and the Gang Crazy Sexy Wool in the colorway Glow Up Cream. The little neon flecks are the best!

The clear, very detailed pattern comes with lots of customization tips, so you can really have fun playing with it!

Express Line is a size inclusive knitting pattern, in 11 sizes ranging from 30.75 – 62.75” / 78 – 159.5cm at full bust. Choose a size that is approx. 2” / 5 cm smaller to 1” / 2.5 cm larger than your full bust. You can easily size up for a looser fit.

See schematic file for full garment measurements.

For lots more information on fit and sizing, please see the pattern page on Ravelry or Payhip.

And check out the project pages on Ravelry to see more great examples from my Express Line test knitters!

The fabric and style reminds me of the classic Channel tweed jacket. Very stylish. Really sings with your new cigarette pants.

I thought the same thing when I saw it! I love that this uses a chunky yarn and would knit up quickly.
