A new vintage fashion staple with Emmy Design’s señorita top

July 9, 2015 by Tasha 15 Comments

Recently I had the pleasure of being contacted by Emmy Design, a small Swedish retro clothing company, to work with them on a review of something from their Spring/Summer 2015 collection. They make truly beautiful and quality items that fit in wonderfully into a vintage wardrobe, and I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to collaborate with them! I love that Emmy Design's focus is on quality wardrobe pieces ... Read more »

Lounging with Linden and pink squirrels

December 4, 2014 by Tasha 24 Comments

Hey guess what, I wear sweatshirts! Well I mean, sometimes, obviously. I only have a couple, but they're both oversized with raglan sleeves... pretty much the exact shape as the Grainline Studio Linden sweatshirt, but with a crew neck. So if any pattern was ever going to get me to sew a sweatshirt, it would be Linden. And how I came to sew it was a bit roundabout. I was contacted by Organic Cotton Plus to see if ... Read more »

Creative necklines class and Craftsy discount

August 4, 2014 by Tasha 6 Comments

For my final collaboration post with Craftsy, I took one more techniques class, Patternmaking + Design: Creative Necklines, with Suzy Furrer. I actually started off with the intention of taking another dressmaking class, but I've come to realize that at this point in my sewing adventures, I'm really more interested in learning techniques, tips and drafting advice than following through an entire pattern! The flirty day dress class and Craftsy giveaway

July 22, 2014 by Tasha 10 Comments

My latest collaboration with Craftsy had me watching a class on how to sew up a particularly cute, vintage-inspired dress! The class is Sewing Vintage: The Flirty Day Dress with Laura Nash. Source: Copyright © Craftsy, Sewing Vintage: The Flirty Day Dress Laura Nash, by the way, is completely adorable. Uncommonly good anniversary mugs

June 17, 2014 by Tasha 28 Comments

Today is our third wedding anniversary! And with lucky timing, it actually ties in directly to a review I have to share, that I planned especially for today. Awhile back, I had the pleasure of being contacted by Uncommon Goods. Uncommon Goods is a socially-responsible and environmentally-conscious company featuring handcrafted and unique gift items, most of which are made in the US, and many of which are handmade. They ...
