Happy New Year! I’m not usually one to do a lot of reflecting on a year, but wow am I glad to kick 2023 to the curb for many reasons. On the creative front, I have lots of new vintage sewing and knitting plans for this year.
And I’m really excited to start the second year of my YouTube channel with you all. I KNOW. It’s hard to believe that it’s only been a year since I posted my first video, giving you a tour of my sewing room. (You can read my old blog post on designing my cutting table, too.)
And I’m kicking off 2024 with a new YouTube video today, I’m chatting about what I’m working on right now in both sewing and knitting, and a little bit about what you can expect to see from me in the new year. Kind of. Maybe. Don’t hold me to it. ?
Watch the full video to dig into it all.
But here’s a little sneak peek of a few of the things I’m chatting about in the video…
As I told you about yesterday, I just released a new knitting pattern for a cute little scarflet called the Confectioner Scarf. It’s perfect for beginner knitters and comes with a video tutorial to help you learn how to read your rows.
I’m working on a houndstooth colorwork pullover just for me–no knitting pattern in the works, just a little something I’m working up for myself as I go! Sometimes it’s fun to just play it by ear and do something for me. Since I’ve delved back into knitwear design, I haven’t done much of that!
In the sewing department, I’m finally (hopefully) (maybe?) getting around to sewing up some separates using the stretch corduroy fabrics I got from Minerva Crafts in the fall. I’m definitely thinking I’ll batch sew them to make multiple pairs at a time. Which will be a challenge, but I’m up for it!
And how about some leopard print flannel? I just found some at Joann Fabrics, coincidentally just a day or so after ordering a 1950s jumper dress sewing pattern (love when you find your size for cheap!). The two were destined to be!
What else? I have so many plans and ideas for the new year, and I can’t wait to share them with you!
