A happy early Valentine's Day to you! Actually, we don't usually do much for Valentine's Day. As a couple, Mel and I historically have never made it a big deal as before we were married it was two weeks away from anniversary, so for 10 years we really just never did anything. One thing I've always loved, however, was vintage Valentine ephemera. Just so cute! So when I saw this vintage-inspired fabric with a heart ... Read more »

My Knit for Victory Hetty cardigan
I'm back with my second Knit for Victory project! Today is the last day of the challenge, can you believe it? It was actually a fluke that this project was finished before KFV wrapped up. All last week I was sick, and as I was starting to feel better, I started knitting up Andi Satterlund's Hetty cardigan. By the weekend it became apparent I was going to be able to finish it in time, so just under the buzzer I suddenly ... Read more »
My Knit for Victory green bolero
Folks, Knit for Victory has been fantastic, and today I'm happy to share the first of my two finished projects for the knit-along challenge. (Reminder, Friday is the deadline!) You may recall from my bolero inspiration post that I had to change my original knitting plans as my shoulder hasn't been allowing me to knit stranded projects. I did one last year, and it was interesting reading the goals I set for myself this year, some of which I accomplished (namely, focusing on separates, as you'll see). I think the best part of what I accomplished this year was ... Read more »
Finished 1947 Campus Classics Cable Pullover
I started my fitting and knitting a 1940s pullover series earlier this month, and I told you it would go fast! You saw a few peeks here and there of the project as I knit it... in fact my blog and Instagram have been practically a sea of red yarn lately. But today you get to see the finished pullover! And boy, I really couldn't be happier with the final sweater, let me tell you! This ticks so many boxes in my ... Read more »
Dragonflies Jumper for fall
My latest knitting project is off the needles! And on my back, well, pretty much every single day since I finished it. The pattern is Dragonflies Jumper (that's a link to the pattern on Ravelry) by designer Joji Locatelli. As soon as I saw the dragonfly stitch pattern I fell in love with this sweater. As it happens, the designer was having a fall knit-along in her Ravelry group, so I joined in the ... Read more »
