I’m so excited to officially announce the new By Gum, By Golly redesign today!
Thanks to Joelle of Moxie Design Studios, this blog now has an amazing new look and great functionality. I seriously couldn’t be more pleased. Tickled, flabbergasted… doesn’t even begin to cover it!
Some astute readers noticed the new site technically went live yesterday, but we’ve been working behind the scenes to get things ready. I still have a lot of housekeeping to do (rebuilding my blogroll, re-organizing lots of posts, etc), so please excuse me if you notice any hiccups along the way. I’m still getting my feet wet with WordPress (bye bye, Blogger) and the new site.
The most noticeable difference to you (other than the fab design!) is that the URL of my site has changed. I’m no longer using blog.bygumbygolly.com, I’m now using bygumbygolly.com. But don’t worryβall of my old posts redirect to the new links! So it should hopefully be a pretty seamless transition for my readers.
You’ll notice lots of fun new things on this site, like…
- a navigation menu that includes some of the topics I yammer on about the most such as knitting, sewing, tutorials (all three of those have sub-categories in the menu!), and my vintage wardrobe, which covers outfit posts and items I sew and knit for my wardrobe
- lots o’ social media icons so you can follow me anywhere you’d like
- Pinterest and Instagram on the sidebar
- a rotating Tutorials & How-To section on the sidebar
- a holy-mama-so-easy way to actually find my content including categories and a tag cloud in the sidebar, as well a great site search
And here’s the photo used on my brand new About page. If you ever wondered what started my obsession with vintage, check it out. π
Thank you SO much to Joelle and Moxie Design Studios for whipping this blog into shape and putting a serious spring in my step. I couldn’t be happier or more thankful!!
Wouldn’t you agree By Gum, By Golly has serious moxie now??

Wow I absolutely love the new look Tasha, honestly it’s perfect. Might have to start saving up to get my blog tarted up now! I also a hardback detective fiction collection – Agatha Christie rather than Nancy Drew in my case but I love the vintage look of those old books! x
Tasha says
Oh I love the look and feel of old books tooI loved Agatha Christies but sadly none of mine were cool and old. LOL!

What an adorable blog! I love the polka dots and little red hearts in the background. I’m in the midst of having my blog spruced up and cannot wait to share!! xxx

Lovely! It is really perfect, what a great job.
And hey, there is the search bar π
(how great: I love that the polka-dot-background moves when I scoll down, whereas the lace-pattern stays in place, such a great detail)

It’s so fun that your vintage obsession started with the Nancy Drew books! Those books were (and still are!) a huge inspiration for me, and the cover art on the Norwegian (translated) books are so beautiful!
And by the way, your new blog design is so sweet!
P.S. Just in case you check out my blog, I haven’t posted anything yet. But I hope I get the time to do it soon! π
kate says
Lookin’ good! Love the new design and welcome to the wonderful world of wordpress! π
Ronja says
You are so right!! I just realized it seeing your Nancy Drew book. The things my mother read to me were often rooted in the past. Ann or Green Gables, Little House, Nancy Drew, Annette, and everything from Grace Livingston Hill. Most of my books were originals, musty and sometimes falling apart. I loved going to thrift stores, but a vintage parasol when I was 15 and visiting Arkansas must have been my first vintage find that stands out. This was of course before I knew what vintage was! Now I love everything old. I even try to stock my etsy store with vintage finds! Although determining fiber content is always a challenge and that’s why I loved your last post so much.
Jessica Cangiano says
My stars, does the revamping look incredible! I love the content on the side bar, the cheerful design and colour palette, the About page, the fonts used…hmmm, you know, I adore everything! Incredible, inspiring work from you and Moxie Design Studios, dear Tasha! So happy for you!!!

Is the jaguar in the background of your “About Me” photo vintage? Or is it Haeger pottery?
Just a fellow local wondering π
Tasha says
It’s a vintage t.v. lamp! π
Mary says
Well I like it! You could always put on airs and tell everyone it’s Royal Haeger π
Gjeometry says
Ooooh, re-haul, it’s looking good (although I’ve only been following your blog a few days now). I am also desperately wanting to overhaul my blog, I’ve had it since December 2012 and think it’s time for some updating. Think I will look into the company who helped you. Do you recommend them?
Tasha says
Highly recommended!
