If you’re looking for the perfect vintage-inspired knitting pattern to make for fall, then ooh have I got a treat for you today.
Meet the Fortesse pullover, my latest knitting pattern that I just released today! Buy it on Ravelry or Payhip.
Fortesse is a cozy vintage-inspired pullover with a unique shaped collar and coordinating stitch patterns. There’s Version 1, shown above, a fitted cropped look with classic vintage waist shaping. And Version 2, shown below, with a longer hip length and more relaxed fit in the body, perfect for a vintage après-ski vibe and non-vintage fans alike!
It’s absolutely gorgeous in Brooklyn Tweed Tones (purchased from Wool & Company), a wonderful woolen spun worsted weight yarn.
Now, Fortesse is a little bit of a spicy knitting pattern! You’ll establish and keep track of stitch patterns while working short rows in the shoulders and the collar, and throughout neckline shaping and armhole shaping. Most sizes will work some neckline shaping and armhole shaping at the same time.
The pattern is extremely detailed though, so you proceed carefully and read ahead, you’ll be rewarded with a gorgeous pullover with lots of great texture, and be ready to beat the chill in style!
Fortesse is a size inclusive kitting pattern, in 11 sizes ranging from 31.5 – 62.75” / 80 – 159.5cm at full bust. Designed to be worn with 0 – 2” / 0 – 5cm negative ease at the full bust for Version 1, and the same or less ease for Version 2.
Check out the project pages on Ravelry to see more great examples from my Fortesse test knitters!
And wait… did you maybe spy a matching beret? Stay tuned, I’ll be releasing a companion matching beret pattern soon!
