Hi everyone! If you sew, you probably already know about Vintage Pledge, which is the vintage sewing challenge being hosted this year by Marie and Kerry.
I’m tickled to say that Kerry interviewed me all about my vintage sewing pattern stash, and today the interview is up on her blog! So if you’d like to see a bunch of my favorite vintage patterns, and read what draws me to vintage patterns and the like, pop on over to Kestrel Makes. 🙂
Have a lovely day! I’ll be daydreaming about sewing up all my vintage patterns now… 😉

I like the coat pattern in the picture above. I love vintage patterns. I’ve been collecting them for a few years now and I’m obsessive about it. I think I have over 400 in my stash. The artwork from the 30’s & 40’s are my favorites but I really like the mod 60’s and Jackie O outfits. I have an uncut 50’s McCall’s wedding dress pattern that reminds me of Liz Taylor in “Father of the Bride”. I’ve only sewn from a couple of vintage patterns. In the fall I made a poncho from a mid-60’s Simplicity pattern. It came out really nice. I wore it till it was too cold and had to switch to a winter coat. I took the vintage challenge to make 3 garments this year. I do have a few vintage patterns sitting out in the sewing room as motivation. Between the patterns and the vintage challenge I just may sew a few things!
