One thing that I don’t think I do enough around these parts is outfit posts. Would you agree? Would you like to see more?
A few weeks ago we had a nice cool spell, which actually made it feel like fall was on its way. And so I started ditching my skirts and dresses for jeans again. Of course then after that we sweltered in the heat for awhile, naturally. But even still, I’ve been finding myself wearing jeans a lot in these dwindling days of summer.
Hey look, I post photos with my belt crooked… the things I do for you!
I paired my jeans with a blouse I’d never actually worn! You see, it’s part of a vintage set. I initially loved the idea of the separates as an outfit—but I didn’t count on the fact that the lacy blouse and tea-length skirt with scalloped hem would make me feel like a walking picnic table. Finally about a year after buying them, I realized the blouse was great… without the skirt.
I love how the armholes are trimmed with lace like the collar. I’m really not a big fan of lace, I admit, so this is one of the few lacy things in my wardrobe!
Pairing my plastic strawberries necklace, sleeveless blouse and polka dot clogs with jeans, I definitely feel this outfit keeps one foot firmly in summer, while the other is creeping into fall.
Now, where’s the picnic?!! Actually, as you read this I’m off galavanting in the north woods of Wisconsin, so I might even be enjoying a picnic right now. How about that!

Yes, more outfit posts, please! I love getting ideas for accessorizing things that way. I’m with Rochelle, I’m not sure how much longer I can hold out without a pair of Freddie’s.

What a lovely outfit, and that belt is to die for!
I must go shopping with you and Mel some more… I’m in a dreadful need of accessories. Where do you generally shop (in person or online?)… if you don’t mind divulging your sources of course. 😀

You look fabulous! I love the looks of jeans and pretty blouses. I truly wish I had a pair of vintage jeans but alas they don’t make them for plus size gals like me. I may make myself some corduroy pants for the winter months.
Stephanie says
So cute! I love all the contrasts in this outfit! Not to mention it’s in one of my favorite color palettes!

I love your outfit posts, so yes to more 🙂
I also love this blouse. I am not generally a fan of this style of blouse (on me), but the lace really makes it. I am officially converted into liking that style blouse!
I agree that the jeans look with it is the way to go, it looks wonderful! Have you figured out how to wear the skirt without the blouse?
Béa says
Now I’m curious to see the skirt!
It’s a great late summer outfit, and I *adore* your strawberry necklace.

I love how tailored the gingham top feels in spite of the eyelet and everything. It’s so sporty! I need to reevaluate that neckline for myself, because when I see it depicted on patterns my eye often finds it too modern, but here it’s pure vintage, modest, and flattering..

Just to state the obvious: All of this is way too adorable. I’m with you on the lace thing, sometimes it just too frou frou. But this isn’t too much at all! The belt is fantastic – what is that made of? smitten kitten over here. Hope you are having fun in Wisconsin!!

That necklace is the epitome of cute, the collar on your top is so darling, and that belt will have me searching for a similar one for the rest of time now. You look so awesome, dear Tasha!!!

I love the shirt, especially for the tiny lace detail at the armhole! Details nearly always are what win me over.
Yes, yes for more outfit posts! Seeing others wearing great vintage outfits will encourage me as I make a switch from ‘what I wear’ to ‘what I want to wear’. Plus I love seeing how other women style pieces similar to those I like. Love the gingham!
