Indian Summer in St. Louis

October 11, 2011 by Tasha 14 Comments

This weekend we took a road trip to St. Louis to visit Mel’s sister, brother-in-law and our niece and nephew. It was fantastic. We always have such a nice time together. There was grilling, relaxing on the porch, seeing butterflies at a butterfly house, looking for fossils and geodes by a river, skipping rocks, playing with the kids and reading bedtime stories. All in gloriously warm weather more reminiscent of July than October.

Thanks for the last hurrah, Summer. See you next year!

Ahh yes – the last hurrah of summer! I love the pic with the sets of feets! And, is that a poppy sleeve on your left arm?

@LandGirl1980 While my whole sleeve isn’t poppies yes, the bottom half is! They’re my favorite flowers, partially because I used to call my dad Poppy when I was wee. 🙂

Looks like a delightful day! And, of course, you look delightful.
Hey, I have those shoes in white 🙂 I wish I had bought a gazillion more colors when they were available.

You lucky things! I am envious of your beautiful sun and blue skies…its just dreary drizzle, grey and cold all the way in the UK this week 🙁

You look adorable! I am resisting packing away all my summer dresses until it is absolutely necessary. Right now I can still pull off wearing them with tights and a cardigan but I know it’s coming.

YAY I took full advantage of last week’s amazing weather– think it’s the first time I’ve been able to run around in a cotton sundress when the leaves are changing. I love the swing pictures and the shot of you wading in the creek, looks like fun was had by all.

We have been having some of the best fall weather (well, except for today which is pouring down rain)! So nice that you could get out and enjoy it with family. Was loving the little guy with Pia’s head pic, and then realized his shirt said ‘the dog did it’. Too adorable!

What a wonderful goodbye to summer! Here it’s more like we’re beginning to see the end of fall (I hope snow is at least a month away, but there’s no telling for sure)…

The shirtwaist, with the buttons and the shoes, are adorable! And you look supercute on a swing =)

Again, the pictures of the scenery are just amazing! Are you the photographer of the wonderful nature-photos on the blog? I find taking photos that really conveys the feeling of a landscape really tricky, but your photos always pulls me right in.

    Thanks everyone! ♥

@Lauren Yes, I’ve spotted those shoes on your blog! I’m with you on that, I wish I had bought all the colors and multiples, too. I will be so sad when this pair dies!

@Dolly Cool Clare Well you’ll have your time to gloat when it’s freezing cold with ice and snow on the ground here in a couple of months. LOL

@Moxie Tonic Isn’t that funny?? I didn’t even notice until I was reviewing the photos!

@Erika Yes, those are my nature photos! I’ve always loved trying to capture nature. I used to do it a lot when I had a nice SLR camera when I was in college, then migrated to less fancy digital cameras that didn’t capture nature very well. Finally now I have a nice DSLR camera so my interest has been renewed since I got it this summer. 🙂
